Deep connective tissue massage

Deep connective tissue massage uses slow and deep strokes called myofascial glides to access the deepest levels of fascia.  No oil is used in order that resistance be created and thus the connective tissue releases in a passive way and the tissue returns to a state of elasticity.  Consecutive moves are repeated 3-5 times and with each time depth, warmth and elasticity increase as the tissue is affected and blood flow stimulated.

The connective tissue is one continuous network that wraps all of the organs, structures and vessels in the body, spreading from head to toe. It is integral to our whole system even down to a cellular level.  If there is restriction/scar tissue or a holding in one part of the body it can affect the entire connective tissue.

This technique breaks up adhesions and scar tissue that restrict movement. It has also been known to help relieve chronic tension, to increase the body's range of motion, to improve posture. Traumatic events such a whiplash can slowly influence structural mobility of our body and pull us out of alignment.  These stresses can cause pain and dysfunction.
